“Just adding ‘HB’ to the address gives the end user locational knowledge of the program,” said Division Chief Eric Dieterman. “This also ties in our new operational public-friendly website, www.hbsafebeachday.com. The two websites are a representation of the dynamic and responsive updates at the Huntington Beach Fire Department. “

A new job posting went out today regarding “Recreation Leaders” for the HBJG program. Qualified applicants must be 15 ½ years old and are/have been in the A group. Check out the listing, https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/huntingtonbeach/jobs/3589272/recreation-leader-entry-fire-department.

HBJuniorguard.com has all the updated information about the program, as well as links to all the other year-round classes offered. Although the summer Junior Lifeguard program is closed to registration, anyone can join the mailing list so they can receive all the news and updates.

With less than two weeks left until the start of the summer, the Marine Safety Division is hosting Water Safety Day this Sunday, June 19, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Pier Plaza. Come down and say hello to our lifeguards!
