This tryout is for the PM session only for the ”C” and “B” division. “A” Division applicants are eligible for AM and PM sessions for this date!

The Huntington Beach Fire Department Junior Lifeguard Program logo was originally created by Ray Bray in 1963. The first version donned a black and white design but two years later became colorized. The logo has stayed the same through the years with some digital upgrades from Michael Eich, Sean Cahill, and Chauncey Bayes. The latest rendition was enhanced and redesigned by Captain Sterling Foxcroft.

Just a reminder that uniforms need to be pre-ordered prior to the registration dates: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., June 5, 6, and 13; 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., June 8 and 15. Please read through all this information.
To order the Sand Crab uniforms, use this link, Friends of the HBJG, to pre-order the uniforms. Sizes will be handled onsite.
For the shorts and suits, it is not required to wear red shorts or suits. The participants can wear anything comfortable that can get wet. Optional red shorts and suits can be purchased through www.jrguards.com. Please make sure that there is no logo on the gear. They produce girls' suits suits that work well for all smaller sizes, below size 28.
REMINDER: the Junior Lifeguard uniform is only for Junior Lifeguards. Sand Crabs can not wear Junior Lifeguard items.
