May 5th Tryout is Full

Thank you for your interest in the Huntington Beach Fire Department Junior Lifeguard Program. The May 5, 2021 Tryout date is currently full. The next tryout is May 16, 2021. The reservation link for the May 16, 2021 Tryout will be available by the end of the day on May 7, 2021.

Also, the reservation link is live, so we ask families to reserve one spot per child. We are limited on space at the May 5, 2021 Tryout. If you plan to not attend the tryout, please cancel your reservation on SignUp. This will open spots for other future Junior Lifeguards to tryout.

Uniform Purchasing Information Sheet

Pick up Dates are June 5, 6,12, or 13 from 8 a.m. - 12:00 pm and June 8 and 15, from 4pm to 7pm. Pick up is at Huntington Beach fire Educational Center, home of the Junior lifeguards.

Sand Crab Registration Updates

Good Morning Future Sand Crab Parents, Thank you for bringing your little future Sand Crabs to the Huntington Beach Fire Department Tryout. We are amazed at the participation and the preparedness of those little ones. The Sand Crab Group is a special group that needs special registration. With that said, there is a process to complete the registration, which means confirm the preferred section and payment. Here are the steps: Step 1 Tryout - YOUR LITTLE ONE MADE IT!!!! Step 2 Create an account on HBSands.org, write down your password. Step 3 Add your child to your account. Step 4 Wait 24 hours after Step 3 before calling or emailing. Step 5 Office hours are 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Step 6 Add child to the section desired on RecTrac. Step 7 Don't panic, everyone is on a waitlist. Step 8 The second Sand Crab Tryout is May 16, 2021, so the lottery is May 18, 2021. Step 9 Lottery is per section, students are placed in their preferred section. Step 10 If all goes your way, you will receive an email requesting payment. Step 11 You will have a window of 72 hours before it is offered to the next family. Step 12 Be ready by May 18, 2021.
