2023 HBJG Sand Crab Information

Summer is almost here! Our website is updated with the current 2023 information. For those families interested in spending three weeks of the summer with us, please note that Sand Crabs require an official tryout at one of the two tryouts offered. We are working though a new registration system. The plan is to have a soft launch so families can create accounts. Then the system will open for class registration.

Here are some important dates:

Week of February 20: Create an account on www.HBSands.org.

March 7: Registration opens on www.HBSands.org.

April 2: First afternoon tryout for Sand Crabs at Golden West College Pool. Registration is required.

April 16: Last afternoon tryout for Sand Crabs at Golden West College Pool. Registration is required.

May 10: Last day to register for the summer class. One session per participant.

June 26: First day of Sand Crabs Session One.

July 13: Last day of Sand Crabs Session One.

July 24: First day of Sand Crabs Session Two.

August 10: Last day of Sand Crabs Session Two.

2023 Huntington Beach Junior Lifeguard Program Information

It's that time! Our website, www.HBJuniorguard.com, is updated with the tryout and enrollment information. For those families wanting to spend the summer with us, please note that we are working through a new registration system. The plan is to have a soft launch so families can create their account. Once that process is complete, the new registration system will open. Here are some important dates:

Week of February 20: The new HBSands.org launches for families to create an account.

March 7: Registration for all city classes, including HB Junior Lifeguards Swim Test.

April 2: First HBJG Tryout at Golden West College Pool, registration required.

May 10: The last day to register for the 2023 HBJG Program.

June 26: First day for the summer program.

July 14: Picture Day and Hot Dog BBQ

July (either 21 or 28): Junior Lifeguard Regionals at Newport Beach, Calif.

August 11: End of Summer Ceremony, location TBA
